Want to see more? The physical copies of our oldest family photos and documents are held in the Quan and Lew collection at the San Francisco History Center, on the 6th floor of the SFPL Main Library, and can be perused at any time by the public. Simply request the Quan and Lew collection at the front desk of the History Center. You can also interact with the Quan and Lew collection in this 360° video on the SFPL youtube channel.
A selection of these materials will be on display in an exhibit - Chinaman Tycoon: The Life and Times of Lew Hing (1858 – 1934) - on the 6th floor (just outside of the SF History Center) from October 4th, 2024 to January 2nd, 2025. Feel free to contact us to learn when our family will be going to visit the exhibit together. We will be going on a guided tour led by those who so lovingly curated the display. What a wonderful way to step back in time to connect with our ancestors and one another!
